Case Study – Economist Enterprise Multi-Day Event

September 2026

“Feedback across the board was fantastic, with a few attendees calling {10-11}one of their favourite venues during London Climate Action Week”.

When a heatwave hit London the same week as a multi-panel programme, {10-11} Carlton House Terrace’s Lower Ground Floor, and its high-spec features including air conditioning, kept Economist Enterprise’s event running smoothly from start to finish.

Economist Enterprise supports organisations in navigating global complexity and making confident strategic decisions by combining forward-thinking analysis and authoritative perspectives. Across the three-day event, they held a series of panels in the SHAPE Room, with different themes for each day.

About the event

“It’s hard to pick just one moment because the whole team went above and beyond from start to finish”.

For the event, Economist Enterprise booked exclusive hire of the Lower Ground Floor, including the SHAPE Room, Wohl Gallery and the Lecture Room from the 23rd to 25th June. A roundtable lunch was held in one of our traditional spaces, the Council Room, on the 24th, whilst a series of panels of up to 10 speakers took place in the SHAPE Room. Attendance numbers increased at the last minute, so the Wohl Gallery and Lecture Room were used for both catering and overflow spaces, with the main conference streamed into the spaces, thanks to the built-in AV equipment in the SHAPE Room.

What made {10-11} Carlton House Terrace the right venue

“Running our multi-panel programme required a blend of staging, networking areas, and capacity that the Lower Ground Floor of {10-11} provided in spades. The SHAPE Room, Wohl Gallery, and Lecture Theatre enabled us to run our event programme seamlessly, and the exceptional air conditioning kept everyone cool during the heatwave.”

When looking for a venue, Lucy Coffey, Event Manager at Economist Enterprise, needed somewhere not just with a prime central location, but also with versatile spaces to accommodate their multi-panel programme.

Putting on memorable events is what our expert events team does best, so when you choose {10-11} Carlton House Terrace, every detail is taken care of. Economist Enterprise’s event involved using multiple spaces across three days, with attendance increasing shortly before the event started. With the audience changing constantly across three different daily themes, the venue team had to adjust to these changes quickly, turning rooms around, tweaking AV setups, and bringing catering times forward. Lucy said: “They were super proactive and adjusted to changes really quickly. When guest numbers jumped, the natural flow between spaces made it easy to flip the Lecture Room to an overflow room, and the AV team set up a live stream from the SHAPE Room really quickly so no one missed out.”

Equipped with top-of-the-range technical facilities and onsite technicians to ensure that your event runs smoothly, our Lower Ground Floor spaces are able to accommodate anything from conferences to hybrid events. We asked Lucy how our venue’s AV capabilities and technical support contributed to the success of the event, and she said: “The on-site AV team was brilliant to work with. They stayed super flexible and completely calm through every session, even when we threw last-minute changes at them. Getting speakers mic’d up was always seamless and stress-free, and the team’s quick problem-solving behind the scenes meant we never had to worry about a thing.”

The Lower Ground Floor experience

The Lower Ground Floor consists of three characterful spaces, the Lecture Room, Wohl Gallery, and SHAPE Room, all equipped with advanced technical capabilities to support a range of events. When used together, our Lower Ground Floor spaces offer a versatile setting for creating something even more memorable than a single-room format.

For Lucy, it was the natural light and the air conditioning that made the space work across the full 2.5 days: “It made a huge difference across the 2.5 days, and made the networking feel completely natural - letting guests move easily from sessions to networking and keeping the momentum going.”

Post-event feedback</h2>

Post-event feedback is just as important as the day itself, highlighting what worked well and what didn’t, and shaping the experiences for future events.

When asked what feedback they received from attendees, speakers or colleagues about the venue, Lucy said: “Feedback across the board was fantastic, with a few attendees calling {10-11} one of their favourite venues during London Climate Action Week. People loved how bright, open, and welcoming everything felt.”

Our venue team strive to exceed your expectations, from initial enquiry to on the day of your event. After joining the Economist Enterprise team just two months before the event, a particular highlight for Lucy was the calm and helpful support of the on-site team: “It’s hard to pick just one moment because the whole team went above and beyond from start to finish. I came onto the event late so having such a capable on-site team was a massive help. They were calm, flexible, and genuinely helpful - honestly, their support on-site was really excellent.”

Lastly, we asked whether they would choose {10-11} Carlton House Terrace for a similar event, and Lucy said definitely!

“Hosting our 2.5-day programme at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace was a really positive experience. Between the versatile spaces and the supportive team, we would certainly look at bringing future events here.”
