When Prime Minister Gladstone lived at number 11, this historic room was the centre of musical and intellectual salons in London. The large windows bring in plenty of natural light and the decorative painted window blinds draw the eye up to the delicate plasterwork depicting musical instruments.

The Guinness family lived at No 11 from 1875 to 1946 and it is thought that Sir Arthur Guinness is responsible for the decoration in the Music Room as his brother had a very similar room in his house in Ireland. This Louis XVI style of décor was very popular in the Edwardian era. 

This room is paired with the Beatrice Webb Room and Gallery to make conferences, meetings and workshops flow seamlessly from registration through to lunch and post event networking.

The central carved fireplace makes a perfect focal point for flowers and the soft cream walls make a versatile backdrop for branding opportunities.

The room contains a useful ante-room that contains a large bar with a delightful bookshelf behind with books of varying pastel colours.

In fact, with its varnished floors for dancing and neutral palate for disco lighting, the Music Room will become the life of the party after a wedding or birthday celebration. 

Subject to last minute availability, the Music Room may be hired independently for photos shoots, fashion shows or private lunches. Please speak to your venue coordinator for more information.
