Case Study - Models of Diversity
July 2025
Models of Diversity recently approached us about hosting their fashion show event at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace. As a venue committed to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, our team were eager to work with them to achieve their vision.
Models of Diversity is a charity which promotes inclusivity and ensures that the models featured are representative of real people of all races, ages, shapes, sizes and abilities. They offer a range of workshops aimed to combat lack of diversity and self-esteem issues, helping people to learn about the industry and have the confidence to apply for castings and shoots.
We spoke to Marie O’Halloran, Assistant at Models of Diversity about how they decided to use {10-11} Carlton House Terrace for their fashion show, and the highlights from their event.
Venue accessibility was a priority for Marie when choosing a venue, alongside a Central London location and a friendly team.
“We were looking for a venue that would not just reflect the professionalism and prestige of the charity's mission but also be fully accessible and have the same ethos as MOD in terms of diversity and inclusion — {10-11} Carlton House Terrace have always supported MOD with donating their gorgeous space for photoshoots, they immediately stood out as our number one choice for a venue, with Its beautiful architecture, central London location, friendly staff and strong reputation it felt like the perfect setting to host our fashioning change event.”
In the lead up to an event, clear communication and flexibility is integral to make the planning process stress-free for the client and ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. When asked how our team’s communication was in the lead up to the event, Marie said: “The team were fantastic. Their communication was clear, timely, and incredibly supportive. They were flexible when it came to our unique event needs — from staging to accessibility — and made the entire planning process feel collaborative. It was very reassuring to work with a team that not only understood what we wanted to achieve but also truly cared about our cause. Marion was exceptional in the lead up, going above and beyond to help us.”
Our expert event team have more than 44 years of experience within the industry, so we know how to host a successful event! Here’s what Marie thought of the team on the day of the event: “Absolutely exceptional. Every member of staff was professional, attentive, and calm under pressure. Laurie took over from Marion on the day and provided an incredible service. The whole team worked seamlessly behind the scenes to make sure everything ran smoothly, which allowed us to focus fully on delivering the event and engaging with our guests. Their presence and support truly elevated the day.”
We work with Searcys London, our in-house catering partner who have a long history of delivering impressive catering of the highest standard for your event. Each dish is curated using the finest and freshest seasonal, sustainable ingredients to deliver a memorable dining experience. We asked Marie whether the catering and service met her expectations, and she said: “Yes, without question. The service staff were courteous, well-organised, and responsive throughout the event.”
We love hearing examples of our team going above and beyond to make a positive impact on the guest experience. One standout moment for Marie was the team’s support during setup for the event: “They provided helpful suggestions for layout, lighting, and flow, ensuring our models and guests (some of whom are neurodivergent or disabled) felt safe, confident, and empowered on the day. Their understanding and accommodation of our community’s needs was both thoughtful and impactful.”
Our Central London event venue is well-suited to an array of events, from intimate meetings to conferences, elegant private dining experiences, weddings, and of course fashion shows! Here’s why Marie thought our venue was ideal for hosting an event like hers: “The venue offers both elegance and functionality. Its spacious, light-filled rooms provide a stunning backdrop for visual presentations, fashion shows, and exhibitions. Additionally, the location is easily accessible, and the variety of rooms makes it adaptable for events of all sizes. Importantly for us, the team’s inclusive and welcoming approach made it feel like a safe and affirming space for everyone attending.”
Feedback from attendees post-event is crucial for learning what worked well, what didn’t, and how to meet attendee expectations for future events. Marie commented: “We received overwhelmingly positive feedback. Many attendees commented on how beautiful and inspiring the venue was. Guests also remarked on how smoothly everything ran. Even the security on the night commented on how they would love to see more events like ours as it was so uplifting”.
Finally, we asked Marie whether they plan on returning to our Grade I listed Georgian Townhouse in the future and were honoured to learn that they would love to return! “We consider this event a huge success, and much of that is thanks to the support and excellence of Marion, Laurie and the {10-11} CHT team. We hope this is just the beginning of a long and meaningful partnership.”
