Supplier Spotlight: Lavender Green Flowers

June 2019

There's a lot more to floristry than beautiful blooms. Here's an insight from the Head of Marketing at Lavender Green Flowers.

Name: Babs Barnes

Years in job: 12

1. Tell us a bit about your organisation?

Lavender Green Flowers is now one of the largest UK based florists. We provide flowers for 2000+ corporate events each year and 100 weddings, and we have a team of 35 people, from florists to delivery experts; all bringing different skills and valuable knowledge to the table. Our Chelsea based store on the Fulham Road is full of inspirational products and staff who are always happy to help with any design questions, it’s a great place to sit with a coffee and immerse yourself in to the pretty part of planning any event.

2. What does a day in the life of you look like?

I usually divide my time up with Social Media, an exciting new website build, various newsletters and blog pieces and lots and lots of emails! I also always make sure I sit with our busy Sales Team to get the latest on what’s coming up in the next few weeks.

4. What top tip do you have for event organisers?

Its very apparent for me that flowers are often very far down the to do list for organisers, we’re very used to tight turn arounds these days, but I would say that floristry has the capability to transform any table or room. Its your chance to inject life and creativity in to the whole event, and with social media displaying image after image of beautiful design it has never been more important to get the design right. Our team of designers will be able to provide mood boards, new ideas and samples to ensure we do exactly that for you.

5. What do you think will be the big trend in events for 2019?

Large, flowing designs of mass foliage with ‘pops’ of bold colours are already very ‘in’, we think this will continue and slowly develop in to spectacular displays of bold colours with relaxed shapes that work with the spaces more. Think flowers that move in the wind or ‘grow’ from the building features.
