Creating Unforgettable Christmas Celebrations: Festive Inspiration at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace

December 2025

With the joy of the festive season in full swing, we're thrilled to reveal the inspiration behind this year's Christmas transformation at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace. In partnership with Bloomologie, our Grade I listed Georgian Townhouses are showcasing sustainable, sumptuous festive installations designed to honour our heritage and convey contemporary celebration. For event planners seeking a central London Christmas party venue, read on to discover how historic grandeur and modern styling intertwined make Christmas at {10-11} Carlton House Terrace truly special.

Blending tradition with innovation

Working with Ali Billenness, Bloomologie’s founder, we've created a festive environment that celebrates our magnificent architecture, while elevating the aesthetic with natural elements to suit evolving stylistic expectations. "It's truly one of our favourite buildings in the city," explains Ali. "The variety of spaces and the beautiful details make it a dream to decorate."

Classic Christmas colours of cherry red, forest green and antique gold reflect the building's grandeur across our ten versatile event spaces. The installations tell a story of seasonal abundance, subtly adding layers to heighten the senses.

Sustainability meets luxury

Every element reflects a synergy in sustainability and luxury. Fresh Welsh-grown trees anchor the design, filling spaces with an evocative Christmas scent. Decorations crafted from paper, wood, metal and rich velvet ribbons replace disposable plastics and British-grown winter flowers showcase winter beauty.

"We work with the seasons and use what is local and renewable," Ali shares. "At Christmas that means incorporating scented winter foliage, pinecones, birch branches and dried fruits and flowers." Eucalyptus and berried ivy, holly and skimmia add natural colour alongside red Cornish anemones, home-grown hyacinths, winter tulips, narcissi and hellebores.

Once the festivities end, all trees are recycled and decorations carefully packed away for future use, maximising the lifecycle of materials used. This resonates strongly with organisations aligning year-end celebrations with sustainability commitments.

Design that creates magic Instagrammable moments

Visual continuity flows through signature elements, while respectfully preserving each space's distinct character. Velvet ribbon bows feature in every room and trees of varying size appear throughout, crafted from fir, paper, wood and glass.

"We're seeing a return to varied textures including glass, wood, fabric, paper and metal to layer up design and add quality," explains Ali. This creates depth that photographs beautifully whilst feeling genuinely luxurious, which is something we’re increasingly finding social media-conscious event planners seek.

The entrance features a showstopping focal tree, immediately setting celebration tone. On the staircase, a specially designed installation creates picture-perfect moments. Modern sustainable elements like ribbon chains (eco-conscious alternatives to tinsel) and fabric fringing blend seamlessly with traditional warmth. Pleated paper ornaments and tasselled baubles bring vintage charm, with a sense of delicate and intricate décor.

2025 corporate Christmas party trends

This year reflects significant shifts in how organisations have approached their celebrations.

Experiential and interactive formats

Traditional sit-down dinners have given way to dynamic experiences encouraging movement and participation. Chef-attended action stations, interactive mixology and customisable menus transform dining into entertainment, creating natural conversation and maintaining high energy.

Personalisation and authentic expression

The most significant trend involves moving beyond packages towards celebrations reflecting company identity. Signature cocktails replacing champagne toasts, curated playlists spanning cultural backgrounds and design referencing organisational achievements make events meaningfully personal rather than generically festive.

This also extends to venue selection. Organisations seek unique spaces with genuine character over standard hotel ballrooms. At {10-11} Carlton House Terrace, our historic setting provides immediate atmosphere and sophistication, requiring minimal enhancement to deliver maximum impact.

Intimate gatherings and meaningful connection

Many organisations choose smaller, focused gatherings extending across longer periods. Welcome drinks the evening before or post-celebration brunches create space for genuine interaction without rushed pressure.

Our flexible capacity, accommodating celebrations from small gatherings to 200 guests across ten distinct spaces, perfectly supports this trend, allowing journey-based experiences that feel curated and intentional.

Picture perfection in a heritage setting

Everything installed at {10-11} remains free-standing, ensuring no damage to our historic character. This gives plenty of creative scope, as installations must stand on their own merit, creating more intentional, artful design.

Ornate period features and Christmas theming create natural photography opportunities throughout. Grand entrances, elegant staircases, intimate drawing rooms and expansive reception spaces – every corner and angle offers something worth capturing. Metalwork, balconies and architectural details provide stunning backdrops needing little enhancement.

"We've combined the grandeur of staircases and beautiful metalwork with modern spaces by creating a design that speaks to both contemporary and heritage narratives," Ali explains. This balance ensures photographs feel both timeless and current.

Looking ahead: 2026 predictions

Forward-thinking planners are already considering what’s emerging on the horizon for next year.

Trends to look out for include at-home celebration aesthetics, creating spaces within venues that feel unexpectedly cosy and residential, with lounge-style seating and softer lighting evoking home warmth and comfort.

Transparency over greenwashing will be a high priority, with increased scrutiny of sustainability claims. Guests value knowing exactly how trees will be recycled, where decorations originated and what happens to materials after the season. This elevates venues like ours, partnering with suppliers such as Bloomologie, who prioritise embedding sustainability throughout design.

Purpose-driven gatherings, where understanding "what's the objective?" becomes central. Beyond generic celebration, organisations will look to design festive events with clear cultural intentions, whether strengthening relationships, acknowledging achievements, or reinforcing values.

Smaller scale for deeper impact, continued movement towards intimate gatherings allowing genuine interaction. Venues offering flexibility for varied capacities and multiple distinct spaces become particularly valuable.
