Conference News' Just Meet Events at 10-11 Carlton House Terrace

It’s already been a busy start to 2022 and it’s great to see the return of weddings and corporate events - the event industry is thriving again and we’re delighted to be peoples chosen venue in Westminster people for reconnecting with friends, family or colleagues. 

Looking back at the end of 2021, Conference News also chose {10-11} to bring likeminded #eventprofs together for an afternoon of networking as part of their Just Meet Live series - offering attendees the opportunity to meet new and exciting venues for training days and award ceremonies.

The Just Meet Live events are fast-talking, speed dating style events that provide planners, venues and suppliers the opportunity and platform to secure bookings and attendees to update their network for future events. This time efficient style means that, in just one hour, attendees can gain up to 10 face-to-face business leads. 

It was a privilege to host the Conference News team for their two events and we are thrilled that they proved to be extremely successful. We spoke to Jack Newey, Portfolio Director at Conference News, to see why they chose {10-11} Carlton House Terrace and how their few days with us went.

Our location in the heart of central London and range of rooms beautifully suited to conferences, make for an ideal choice when it comes to hosting corporate events and this proved to be the case for Conference News: “once we had taken a look at the fantastic spaces they had available and the location within the heart of London, it became a clear choice for our networking event.” 

Conference News’ objective for the Just Meet Live events was to bring event organisers and venues together for a day of relationship building, giving the attendees the chance to fit venue sourcing that would usually take weeks into just a couple of hours whilst keeping a safe environment in mind.

One of the many reasons our venue is so suitable for conferences and networking events is the bright open space available across our rooms. Each room provides a stunning backdrop, bringing glamour and a stress-free atmosphere to busy networking events, with many attendees often forgetting that they’re there for work purposes.

“I think the venue’s décor gives a bit of glamour to the event which really helped. The rooms were spaces and had great natural light which really opened up the event. The area we used for the networking drinks afterwards worked really well, it was a nice space and the art gave a bit of an evening-soiree feel to the event.”

In the lead-up to the Conference News events, with the pandemic still very much centre stage in people’s minds, the team worked hard to ensure that current measures and any changes in attendance numbers wouldn’t infringe upon the day: “attendance numbers were an ever-changing beast, and therefore we were in constant correspondence with the team to make sure we had correct seating and catering options. Throughout, the {10-11} team were accommodating to this and it took the stress of our own operations team.”

We’re particularly proud of our catering and our wonderful partners, Searcys, ensure that delicious food forms an integral part of any event. As Jack told us: “the food was delicious, and service was great, guests had their glasses topped up all day.“

“Again, the team were fantastic on the day too. With delays in arrivals, timings had to be flexible on the day and the team were able to meet this flexibility. We had to delay the catering in one instance, and they were able to help us with any last-minute changes.” 

We pride ourselves on providing a service and venue that guests will want to come back to and experience again.
